BAN HAD YAO

PRIMARY SCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN

Our 4th school is Ban Had Yao Primary School and Kindergarten, located in s small village, 75 minutes car ride from Krabi town. After hearing about how their school had been attacked by termites and half of it had to be torn down, combined with their new principal’s plan to focus on English education, we arranged a meeting on school grounds and long story short; we ended up taking one more school under our wings.

So in December 2015 we arranged a school inspection and sat down with the teachers and local community. After seeing the state of the school buildings and their curriculum it was no doubt that we had found our fourth school.

First step on the agenda was building a quality curriculum for the students, together with the teachers, and supplying all of them with shiny new schoolbooks to call their own.

We followed the same recipe as at we did at our other primary schools and mapped out the necessary renovations and made a long term plan, together with our field partner Vouge Resort & Spa and the local community, to help renovate the school.

Vouge Resort & Spa officially became our field partner and offered us all the staff we needed from translators, drivers and negotiators to engineering staff to do the school renovations. And in 2017 Centara Grand Beach & Villas Krabi join us as our second field partner.

And even more amazingly in March of  2016 the general mangers from Vogue Resort and Spa Ao Nang, Amari Vogue Krabi, Amari Phuket and the Onyx Hospitallity Group payed out of their own pocket to cover materials and offer theirs staff  to gets all the tables in the school lunch hall fully renovated. Not only are these tables the lunch tables for the whole school, but the area also doubles as the village meeting point.

Baby Eva decided to also buy new sport equipment every year for t this school to keep the students healthy and happy.

We have continued to donate new books every year, for the students to keep.  We have also continued on our renovation plan and next on the agenda renovating the school building roofs and install gutters, so they will have less water damage in the future.

In the beginning 2016 this school also finally got safe drinking water thanks to our donor the generous Ferris Family. Together we have arranged weekly delivery to the school through a local water delivery and recycling service.

Baby Eva Teddy Bear Foundation and the Ferris Family teamed up in 2017 with our field partner Centara Grand Beach & Villas Krabi and will in the beginning of 2018 install our second “Water Filtration System”. This maschine will give all our student at Ban Had Yao Primary School and Kindergarten unlimited access to safe drinking water, both before, during and after school

Thanks to our amazing sponsors and field partners we are able to make dreams come true for our students. In 2019 we where able to install a brand new shiny playground thanks to our sponsor The Razat-family.

And our field partner Centra by Centara Phu Pano Krabi started a pilot project where we built and renovated the schools garden, and installed a water sprinkle system for the the vegetable garden.

Baby Eva Teddy Bear Foundation believes that a safe playground gives joy to the students and also keeps the kids active. A vegetable garden gives the students important life skills and promotes a healthy lifestyle. So our goal for 2019 was to install and renovate playgrounds and organic vegetable gardens in our schools.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

Our future goal for Ban Had Yao Primary School and Kindergarten is to find a sponsor to help us upgrade the students desks and chairs since they are literally falling apart.

And we hope to get a sponsor to we can launch our  an official “Gardening program” and triple the size of the garden we have todaysince we believe every school should have an organic garden that is maintained by a gardening class, while the food grown is used to feed the students.

Last but not Ban Had Yao Primary School and Kindergarten is in need of 12 used computers and keyboards. Since they got their first donation of a limed amount of used machines they put weekly “Computer classes” in to the curriculum, but unfortunately they do not have enough for all the students in the class. So we are looking for a Thai sponsor to donate used machines, preferably with Office installed on it.
